Traditional Chinese Virtues Stories Sharing Session
Activity Goals:To introduce children to traditional Chinese stories and virtues, fostering good character and a love for these tales from a young age.
Activity Content:The school will host a “Book Week Carnival,” featuring various booth activities where children can dress up as characters from traditional stories and create their own story endings.



Chinese Bonsai Workshop
Activity Goals:To understand Chinese bonsai culture, try making a Chinese bonsai, and learn to care for nature.
Activity Content:The school will invite an instructor to introduce children to the culture and characteristics of Chinese bonsai. The children will have the opportunity to create their own bonsai.

 

 

 

Visit to the Hong Kong Palace Museum
Activity Goals:To understand the history and facilities of the Palace Museum and to cultivate children’s interest in Chinese art and history.
Activity Content:Children will visit the Hong Kong Palace Museum, where teachers will use brochures and guided tours to introduce them to Chinese artifacts and history, enhancing their appreciation for Chinese art and culture.


2022-2023 School Year

Ceramics Learning Day
Activity Goals:To gain a basic understanding of Chinese ceramic art, learn simple ceramic-making techniques, and create simple ceramic ornaments.
Activity Content:The school will invite an instructor to introduce ceramics, ceramic tools, and materials to the children. The instructor will also showcase various ceramic works and allow the children to try making ceramic decorations.

 

 

 

 

  

Mother’s Day Celebration
Activity Goals: To help children understand the tea-serving culture, demonstrate love and filial piety, and inherit the virtues of Chinese cultural traditions.
Activity Content:We invite mothers to the school to celebrate Mother’s Day with the children. This event will allow children to express their love and gratitude to their mothers, promoting traditional Chinese virtues and encouraging them to become caring and responsible individuals.


 

 

 

 


Changshan Promotion Day
Activity Goals:To introduce children to traditional Chinese clothing—specifically the “changshan” (long shirt)—and to cultivate an appreciation for it.
Activity Content:We will invite a changshan designer to the school to share insights with the children. They will learn about the unique features of the changshan and have the opportunity to try on the clothing and design accessories related to it.

 

 

 

 

 


Dragon Boat Festival “I Can Make Zongzi” Activity
Activity Goals: To understand the customs of the Dragon Boat Festival, learn about the ingredients and methods of making zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), and gain hands-on experience in zongzi wrapping.
Activity Content: Teachers will introduce the origin and customs of the Dragon Boat Festival to the children. They will demonstrate how to make zongzi and allow the children to taste and experience wrapping zongzi themselves.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Father’s Day Celebration
Activity Goals: To introduce children to traditional Chinese culture—specifically filial piety—and to demonstrate love and respect, while inheriting the virtues of Chinese cultural traditions.
Activity Content: We invite fathers to the school to celebrate Father’s Day with the children. This event will allow children to express their love and gratitude to their fathers, promoting traditional Chinese virtues and encouraging them to become caring and responsible individuals.













24 Solar Terms (Summer Solstice)
Activity Goals: To understand the Chinese 24 solar terms (specifically the Summer Solstice), the relationship between climate and agriculture, and to learn how to care for nature.
Activity Content: Children will visit “GREEN@ISLANDS ” in Tung Chung, where they will participate in fun games and activities such as creating eco-friendly plant watering bottles.
